Hello World

Ah, bright shiny new website. Welcome to the completely new Elliott W. Stewart experience. If you’re a subscriber of my Substack, you’ll already know a bit of this, but here’s the jist.

I took a hiatus starting in December 2023 from Porch Beers, Porch Beers Press, and zinemaking in general. I was getting burnt out, but a lot of the burnout stemmed from a one-two combo of bad health and a job that was making everything worse. Now that those two items are under control, I’m getting back in the swing of things.

I needed a fresh start, though. And thanks to some newfound sobriety, the name Porch Beers didn’t sit well with me anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I’m 100% proud of the work I did, I just needed a new moniker.

So in June 2024, welcome to the world Disco 3000. It’s my new baby, dubbed after my favorite Pulp song and a Sun Ra album. (plus 3000 is just a funny number. Ask Conan.) The format will switch up a bit. And I might even be trying my hand at fiction!

With the new project comes the new website you’re seeing before you. Part of this process was simply that after four years, it needed a facelift. But more importantly, I can no longer support Wix as a company to host my site. If you’re curious why, I highly recommend looking into the BDS movement (click here for more info)
