Whether you’re wrapped up in a blanket quietly waving a flag or out in the streets dancing in a mesh shirt, Pride is as important this year as it’s ever been. Both locally and federally, we’ve been constantly reminded that we can’t rely on any government to give us our personhood. So I have a Pride flag on my balcony, hanging from my year-round skeleton, to let scared kids and adults know that while they can try their damnedest, they can’t crush us. You have a community, and we love you, and we welcome you with open arms.
My June is shaping up to be a busy one (and so is July) so here’s what I’ve got on the plate so far:
June 14 – Fayetteville Pride (vending and workshop)
June 16 – YMCA of Huntington Kids’ Camp Art Day Workshop
June TBD – Huntington Zine Hangout @ HACks
Also if you see me out and about elsewhere, I might just have some Pride mini-zines for trades or just to give away as funsies.
I’m waiting on confirmation for some July and August events, but I’ll post those as soon as they’re confirmed.
