Get yr copy of Disco 3000 issue 1 directly from me via Etsy. Copies should be hitting the shelves of the Red Caboose any day now, Quimby’s and Taylor Books shortly, and other locations in due time. I’m also down for trades! Hit me up via the contact form if you do a zine and want to trade or would like to see my zines at your local bookstore.
I just got the acceptance email for the Street Cat Zine Fest in Chillicothe, OH. Come see me and tons of other rad folks July 20. Here’s some more info if you’re interested.
One of the things I want to do with this space is highlight other zines I’ve been enjoying. Without further ado:
Petty Betty’s Guide to Civil Disobedience by Dottie is a fun read with a great layout. If you too have been frustrated and disheartened by *gestures wildly at world* then this zine might be the shot in the arm you need to get informed and do something. Purchase here.
Library by Michael Sullivan is a collection of amazing photos of all the libraries in Cabell County. Although it was first conceived several years ago, the finished product comes at a time when our libraries in Cabell county are at great risk thanks to the BOE. Check out Michael’s work here.
Inalienable Dreamless by Kris Hillen is a fantastic collection of art and photography. I picked up one of the last copies at the Ritter Art in the Park market, but you can check out Kris’s work on Instagram.
How to Fire Your Boss: A Workers’ Guide to Direct Action was given to me by some nice folks at the IWW tent at Pride this year. It’s a small yet succinct guide to different types of strikes and strategies to get what you want from your workplace. Download a copy here and check out the WV branch of the IWW here.
I got a copy of The Duplex Planet #169 by David Greenberger as a trade and enjoyed the hell out of it. David interviews senior citizens throughout the country, and this issue seems to take place mostly in Chattanooga, TN. I love love love interviews of everyday folks and this zine is no different. Check it out here.
